v Overview-Why this Approach 1
Chinese
meditation practice makes no sense unless you understand Taoist cosmology. All
began with Wu chi which was the void the unknowable and as in the Tao Te Ching
states “The Tao produced the one; The One produced the two, the two produced
the three; the three produced all the myriad beings.” The Wu Chi (Un manifested
Primordial) produced the Tai Chi, which is the symbol for Yin and Yang polar
opposites perfectly balanced and still united. Yin and yang (Matter Antimatter)
then separated and became two. Yin and Yang produced three elemental forces
called Three Pure Ones. Illus. # A
v Illustrations A
v Overview-Why this Approach 2
These
three created the Five Elemental Energy Phases of the Universe. These five
forces generated the multiplicity. The three forces of nature that sustain our
lives are: Universal Energy, Human Plane or Cosmic Particle Energy (Star Dust),
and Earth Energy. They work in Harmony to sustain all existence. Illus. # B The
Universal spiritual energy is yang whereas the earth energy is Yin and humans
represent a combination of Yin and Yang forming a Tai Chi. Illus. # C The Earth
force spirals up from the earth and mixes with the Yang Universal energy.

v Overview-Why this Approach 3
The
Cosmic particle and earth forces form the human physique, and the universal
force forms the soul and spirit, which energize the physical. Our organs are
the essence of the stellar and planetary energies and are connecting points
between the microcosm and the macrocosm. Illus. # E The Taoists believe that
human flesh is formed by falling cosmic dusts (this dust is what's left of a
dieing star) of the universe.

v Overview-why This Approach 4
In
the Taoist system our bodies contain all of the elemental energies found in the
universe. The tai chi symbol represents the mixing of those energies both spiritual
and earthy in our navel. Our collective mission is to balance and refine the
grosser earthly energies with the more refined spiritual. Ultimately each of us
must do that on our own thru daily practice whether it is thru prayer or
meditation. Our success or failure will determine whether we continue the cycle
of birth, death and rebirth. The internal organs are connected with yin, yang
and the five elements. The five elements are; fire earth metal water wood.
Negative emotions such as anxiety worry depression fear and anger when in
excess are stored in the organs and spill into the abdomen and eventually into
our nerves muscles and fascia. Illus. # F Blockages separate us from the
universal life forces and this imbalance is what causes illness. Problems occur
when these circulating energies become stagnant, too hot, cold or deficient.

v Overview-Why this Approach 5
The
development of the fetus can be seen to follow the same path as the Universal
Manifestation of Energy into form. The Sperm and Egg (Yin & Yang),
Development of the Upper Respiratory/Cardiac, Middle Digestive (Stomach Liver
Pancreas) and Lower elimination (Large Intestine Rectum) (Three Pure Ones), the
five organ systems (Five Elemental Energy) and the 12 meridians and 365 points
(myriad beings). Illus. # F Each of our organs is associated with a
specific element and is either Yin or Yang. Organs are paired Yin to Yang. The
hollow organs are Yang and solid organs Yin.

Heart,
pericardium, spleen/pancreas, lung, kidney, and liver are Yin.
Yang
Organs include; Small Intestine, Triple Warmer, Stomach, Large Intestine,
Bladder, and Gall Bladder. Heart/Small Intestine=Fire, Triple Warmer = Fire,

v Overview-Why this Approach 7
When
obstructed, the internal organs store unhealthy energies that can overflow into
other bodily systems and surface as negative emotions and sickness. Negative
emotions may also fester in the organs or move into the abdomen, which is the
body’s garbage dump. The energetic center in the navel becomes congested and
cut off from the rest of the body. When Chi cannot flow thru the abdomen
because of our negative emotions all organs and systems malfunction. Chi, the
life-force energy, moves through the body’s internal channels, nervous system,
blood vessels, and lymph glands & to all the organs providing nourishment
& regeneration. Chi is the unseen life force cosmic breath is similar to
electromagnetic force. It flows thru the channels. Chi is accumulated through eating,
breathing, and prenatal parental energy. It moves from being a wave force to
particle force, from being a frequency to becoming matter and back again. When
Chi does not flow the area becomes stagnant. Their are many kinds of Chi but it
is in everything seen and unseen. The most precious is the chi accumulated
while we are in the womb. This is the Original, Prenatal or Ching Chi, which
comes from the parents. All of the practices encourage conservation of this
type of Chi. Chi and blood are the primary circulating energies in the body.
Blood is another form of chi combining chi energy from food with Prenatal chi
and chi in the air. Each organ has a channel where chi flows and these
concentrate and cross paths in the abdomen, which acts as their control center.
Most maladies could be healed once the underlying toxins and negative forces
were released from the abdomen. These meditations help transmute negative
emotions into neutral energy or their positive counterpart. For example anger
into kindness, anxiety into joy, fear into gentleness, worry into focused
concentration, and depression into epiphany.
The
meditation you will learn is intended as a self-balancing daily practice to
integrate the spiritual with the material. Chi Nei Tsang is a Taoist massage
that recycles and transforms the negative energies, which obstruct the internal
organs and cause knots in the abdomen. It also clears out toxins, bad emotions,
and excessive heat or heat deficiencies that caused the organs to dysfunction.
The six healing sounds begin the process of clearing out the organs of negative
emotions with the use of sub vocalized sound and stretching postures. The inner
smile helps replace those negative emotions with positive warm energy and helps
open the channels of the microcosmic orbit. The Microcosmic orbit begins to
circulate the healing energy created to the channels and to the associated
organs. The healing hands meditation brings this positive energy to your hands
where you can help others.
v Six Healing Sounds 1
The
Emotional problems, pollution, poor food, injuries, and sudden or overly
strenuous exercise can overheat the internal organs and glands. The Six Healing
Sounds and their associated postures serve to cool and cleanse the vital
organs, stimulating the flow of Chi energy to them. There are specific
positions that you can assume to liberate any heat that may be trapped within
the cooling sacs that surround each vital organ. NOTE: Typical side effects of
these practices are yawning, burping, or passing wind, all of which are
beneficial. 1. Lungs: the First Healing Sound Associated organ: large
intestine Element: metal Season: autumn Color: white Emotions: Grief and
sadness/courage and righteousness Parts of the body: chest, inner arms, thumbs
Senses: smell (nose) and touch (skin) Taste: pungent Sound: SSSSSSSS (tongue
behind teeth) Position: Sit up straight on the edge of a chair with the backs
of your hands resting on your thighs. (Figure App.1-6 Illus. # 1) (a) While looking at your palms, take a deep
breath, and raise your arms out in front of you. When the hands are at eye
level, begin to rotate the palms and bring them up above your head until the
fingers of each hand point toward each other, and the palms face upward and
outward. Keep the elbows rounded out to either side. Do not straighten your
arms. b. Sound: Close the jaws so that the teeth meet gently, and part the lips
slightly. As you look up, push up through your palms Draw the corners of the
mouth back, and exhale the sound '. SSSSSSSS. Sub-vocally, slowly and evenly in
one breath.
Picture
and feel the sac covering the lungs compress; and expel the excess heat, sick
energy, sadness, sorrow, and grief. (Figure App.1-6 (b) Illus. # 1
c.
Rest and Concentrate: When you have exhaled completely, rotate the palms down,
gently lowering the shoulders, and slowly lower your hands to your lap, resting
them on your thighs, palms up. Close your eyes, and be aware of your lungs,
imagining that you are still making the sound. Breathe into the lungs normally
to strengthen them. Visualize The color white and smile into the lungs. Try to
feel the exchange of cool, fresh energy replacing the hot, wasted energy. Feel
righteous- ness and courage grow within you. d. Repeat the Lung Sound three to
six times. For colds, flu, tooth- aches, asthma, emphysema, or depression,
repeat the exercise six, nine, twelve, or 24 times. 2. Kidneys: the Second
Healing Sound Associated organ: bladder Element: water Season: winter Color:
black or dark blue Emotions: Fear/gentleness Parts of the body: side of foot,
inner legs, and chest Senses: hearing (ears), bones Taste: salty Sound:
WOOOOOOO (as when blowing out a candle, the lips forming an "0")
v Illustration 1
v Six Healing Sounds 2
a.
Position: Bring your legs together, ankles and knees touching, then take a deep
breath and lean forward. Clasp the fingers of your right hand around your left,
and embrace your knees with the joined hands. (Figure App.I-7 Illus. # 2 (a)
Pull back on the arms, straightening them. Allow your back to sag so that it protrudes
in the area of your kidneys. Then tilt your head back slightly, and feel the
pull on the spine. b. Sound: Round the lips, and exhale the sound
'WoooOOOO" as if you are blowing out a candle. (Figure App.I-7 (b)) At the
same time, contract your abdomen in toward your kidneys. Keep the lips rounded.
Imagine the excess heat, the sick energy, and the fear being squeezed out from
the membranes surrounding the kidneys. c. Rest and Concentrate: When you have
fully exhaled, sit erect, Separate the legs, and place your hands on your
thighs with palms up. Close your eyes, breathe into the kidneys, and be aware
of them. Visualize the color blue in the kidneys. Smile to them, imagining that
you are still making the sound, and feel gentleness there. Be aware of the
flowing energy. d. Repeat the Kidney Sound three to six times. Practice more to
alleviate problems of fatigue, dizziness, ringing in the ears, or back pain. 3. Liver: the
Third Healing Sound Associated organ: gall bladder Element: wood Emotions:
anger/kindness Season: spring Color: green
v Illustration 2
v Six Healing Sounds 3
Parts
of the body: inner legs, groin, diaphragm, ribs Senses: sight (eyes), ears
Taste: sour Sound: SHHHHHHH (tongue near palate) a. Position: Sit on the edge
of your chair, and extend your arms out to the sides, palms up. (Figure
App.1-8) Illus. # 3 (a) Take a deep breath as you slowly swing your arms up and
over your head, following this action with your eyes. Interlace the fingers and
turn your joined hands over to face the ceiling, palms up. Push out at the heel
of the palms and feel the stretch through the arms into the shoulders. Bend
slightly to the left, exerting a gentle pull on the liver. b. Sound: Open your
eyes wide as they’re the openings of the liver. Slowly exhale, and sub-vocally
emit the sound "SHHHHHHH."
Envision the excess heat and anger being expelled from the liver as the
sac enveloping the liver is gently compressed. (Figure App.1-8 (b) Illus. # 3

v Six Healing Sounds 4
c.
Rest and Concentrate: When you have fully exhaled, turn the hands over,
separate them, and slowly bring the arms down to your sides. Bring the hands to
rest on your thighs, palms up. Smile down to the liver. Close your eyes,
breathe into the liver, and be aware of it beneath the right rib cage. (Figure
App.l-9) Illus. # 4 (c)) Imagine that you are still making the liver Sound.
Feel kindness grow there and visualize the color green. d. Repeat the liver
Sound three to six times. Practice more times to expel anger, clear the eyes of
any irritations, remove a sour or bitter taste, or to detoxify the liver. 4. Heart: the
Fourth Healing Sound Associated organ: small intestine Element: fire Season:
summer Color: red Emotions: hastiness, arrogance, cruelty/joy, honor, sincerity
Parts of the body: armpits, inner arms Senses: tongue, speech Taste: bitter
Sound: HAWWW\I\I\'\. W (mouth wide open) a. Position: Take a deep breath and
assume the same position as for the Liver Sound (Figure App.I-9) Illus. # 4
(a)), but lean-slightly to the right since The heart is located slightly to the
left of center in your chest. Focus on the heart and feel the tongue's
connection to it. b. Sound: Open the mouth, round the lips, and exhale the
sound "HAWWWWWW" sub-vocally. Picture the sac, which surrounds the
heart expelling heat, impatience, hastiness, arrogance, and cruelty. (Figure
App. 1-9(b)) Illus. # 4 c. Rest and Concentrate: After exhaling, smile down to
the heart, and visualize a bright red color. Feel joy, honor, and sincerity
grow in the heart. d. Repeat the Heart Sound three to six times. Practice more
to alleviate problems such as a sore throat, cold sores, swollen gums or
tongue, jumpiness, moodiness, and heart disease. 5. Spleen: the Fifth
Healing Sound Associated organs: pancreas, stomach Element: earth Season:
Indian summer Color: yellow

v Six Healing Sounds 5
Emotions:
worry fairness Parts of the body: lips, mouth Senses: taste Taste: sweet,
neutral Sound: WHOOOOOO (from the throat, guttural) a. Position: Take a deep breath
as you place your hands beneath the sternum with the index fingers resting at
the bottom rib, slightly to the left and above the navel. Press in with the
fingers as you push out the middle back. (Figure App.l-l0) Illus. # 5 b. Sound:
Look up, and gently pushes your fingertips into the solar plexus area. Exhale
the sound 'WHOOOOOO" sub-vocally. Feel the sound vibrate the vocal cords.
Feel your worries being expelled. c. Rest and Concentrate: Once you have fully
exhaled, close your eyes. Place your hands on your thighs, palms up, and
concentrate your smiling energy on the spleen, pancreas, and stomach. Breathe
into these organs. Imagine a bright yellow light shining, and feel the emotions
associated with fairness growing. d. Repeat the Spleen Sound three to six
times. Practice more times to eliminate indigestion, nausea, and diarrhea. 6. Triple Warmer: the Sixth Healing Sound The Triple Warmer refers to the three energy
centers of the body: the upper section (brain, heart and lungs) is hot; the
middle section Giver, kidneys, stomach, pancreas, and spleen) is warm; and the
lower Section (large and small intestines, bladder, and sexual organs) is cool.
The Triple Warmer Sound, HEEEEEEE,’ serves to balance the temperature between
the three centers.

v Six Healing Sounds 6
a.
Position: lie on your back with your arms resting at your sides, palms up, and
your eyes closed. Inhale fully into all three cavities: chest, solar plexus,
and lower abdomen. b. Sound: Exhale the sound '. HEEEEEEE" sub-vocally,
first flattening your chest, then your solar plexus, and finally your lower
abdomen. (Figure App. 1-11) Illus. # 6 Imagine a large roller pressing out your
breath from your forehead to the pubic area. d. Repeat the Triple Warmer Sound
three to six times. Practice more to relieve insomnia (until you fall asleep)
and stress. c. Rest and Concentrate: When you have fully exhaled, concentrate
on the entire digestive tract; that is, most of the torso.

v Inner Smile 1
D.
The Inner Smile and Microcosmic Orbit 1. The Inner Smile The Inner Smile is a powerful relaxation technique
which begins at the mid-eyebrow and eyes. It utilizes the expanding energy of
happiness as a language with which to communicate with the internal organs of
the body. A genuine smile transmits loving energy which has the power to warm
and heal. By learning to smile inwardly to the organs and glands, the whole
body will feel loved and appreciated. You will feel the energy flow down the
entire length of the body like a waterfall. This is a very powerful way to
counteract stress and tension. Inner Smile Practice a. Sit on the edge of a
chair with your hands held together and eyes closed. b. Begin the Inner Smile
by picturing a radiant, smiling face in front of you. (Figure 2-3) Illus. # 7

2.
The Microcosmic Orbit The
Microcosmic orbit meditation awakens, circulates, directs Chi, the generative
life force, through the Conception Vessel,
which runs down the chest, and the Governor Vessel, which ascends the
middle of the back. (Figure 2-5) Illus. # 9 Dedicated practice of this ancient
esoteric method eliminates stress and nervous tension, massages internal
organs, restores health to damaged tissues, and establishes a sense of
well-being. a. After having done the Inner Smile, collect the energy in the

inward 24 times counterclockwise. WOMEN: Cover your navel with both palms,
right hand over left. Collect and mentally spiral the energy outward from the
navel 36 times counterclockwise, arid then inward 24 times clockwise.
v Healing Hands Meditation 1
E. The Healing Hands Meditation The more you are aware of your sources of energy, the more that energy
will come to you from those sources. The energy that you receive from
meditating is superior to the energy that you obtain from food. This is the
wisdom of the ancient Taoists, passed down through the ages from master to
master by word of mouth. The Healing Hands Meditation will help to grow and
strengthen the energy in your hands and fingers. Your hands will develop
sensitivity and you will be able to feel the energy in your student's organs
and abdomen. You will find this to be very useful. 1. Meditation to Expand the
Aura a. Practice the Inner Smile down to the organs and glands. b. Bring the
energy to your navel and practice the Fusion Meditations. c. Form the four Pa
Kuas and the collection points. d. Clean out negative emotions by transforming
them into positive, healing forces. e. Form their energies into a pearl. NOTE:
Anyone who is not familiar with the Healing Tao System can substitute his or
her practice for clearing undesirable emotional energy at this time. f. If you
have not yet learned the Fusion Meditations, do the Microcosmic Orbit at this
time. g. Circulate the energy in the Microcosmic Orbit faster and faster until
it expands outward from your body. h. Feel the energy expanding outward from
your navel as you visualize the sun shining in that area. Feel the energy
filling your aura with a warm, pleasant sensation.(Figure 2-6)Illus. # 10 i. Be
aware of the North Star and Big Dipper above you and absorb their respective
violet and red lights, the golden light of the Cosmic Particles, and the blue
Force of the Earth into the navel. (Figure 2- 7) Illus. # 10
v Illustration 10
v Healing Hands Meditation 2
j.
When you feel your aura has expanded, maintain a distance of at least two
square feet away from other people. If their auras are stronger than yours at
this time, your aura may be squeezed and you will experience discomfort. After
you feel the outer forces strongly, proceed with the following meditation.
2.
Channeling the Force through the Palms a. Hold both of your hands in front of
your eyes and gaze at both palms. (Figure 2-8) Illus. # 11 b. Focus on the
middle of your palms by using the comers of both eyes to gaze at the palms'
centers. (Figure 2-9) Illus. # 11 The corners of the eyes have special cells
that can see in very dim light. Using your eyes to focus this way will help you
develop the ability to see auras and movements in the dark.
Using
the combined power of the mind and the eyes, you can cause the aura of each
palm to grow and expand. When you feel the Chi, its sensation can be one of
contraction, absorption, and drawing the forces into the palms. You might feel
an expansion in the palm. You might see a ball of Chi energy or a ball of color
between the palms through the comers of your eyes. (Figure 2-10) Illus. #11 c.
Be aware of the fingers. Feel your fingertips pulsing. Use your mind and eyes
to absorb the Cosmic Chi into the right palm. Send the Chi from the right palm
and fingers across to the left palm and fingers. Do this 9 times. (Figure 2-11)
Illus. #11 d. Next move the fingers of both hands until they nearly touch each
other: thumb to thumb, index finger to index finger, etc. Feel sensations like
electric sparks traveling across from one fingertip to the other. Some might
feel pain, swelling, or simply expansions in their fingertips. (Figure 2-12)
Illus. #11
e.
Gradually spread the fingers, but not so far that you permit the Chi connection
to diminish or break. If this happens, stop moving them and project more energy
with the mind to reestablish the connection. Spread the fingers in this manner
from 9 to 18 times. (Figure 2-13) Illus. #11
This
practice will increase your sensitivity to energy and your healing ability.

v Summary 1
The Tai
Chi symbol represents the mixing of those energies both spiritual and earthy in
our navel. The internal organs are connected with the two primary forces in the
universe Yin and Yang and with the five forces of the universe; fire earth
metal water wood. Negative emotions such as anxiety worry depression fear and
anger when in excess are stored in the organs and spill into the abdomen and
eventually into our nerves muscles and fascia. Chi, the life-force energy,
moves through the body's internal channels, nervous system, blood vessels, and
lymph glands. The singularity becomes duality (Tai Chi), the five phases (five
elemental energies) and the multiplicity. Although none of our scientists can
answer thus the Chinese Taoist Masters have a cosmology, which has remained the
same for at least 2500 years and bears a striking resemblance to the modern
theories of the physicists. All began with Wu chi which was the void the
unknowable and as in the Tao Te Ching states "The Tao produced the one;
The One produced the two, the two produced the three; the three produced all
the myriad beings." The three forces of nature that sustain our lives are:
Universal Energy, Human Plane or Cosmic Particle Energy (Star Dust), and Earth
Energy. Our organs are the essence of the stellar and planetary energies and
are connecting points between the microcosm and the macrocosm. The Taoists
believe that human flesh is formed by falling cosmic dusts (this dust is what's
left of a dieing star) of the universe. The Cosmic particle and earth forces
form the human physique, and the universal force forms the soul and spirit,
which energize the physical. The meditation you will learn is intended as a
self-balancing daily practice to integrate the spiritual with the material.
